The Patricia Julien Project is a jazz quartet made up of Vermont musicians Patricia Julien (flute), Alec Julien (guitar), Jeremy Harlos (bass), and Caleb Bronz (drums). With three active composers on board, they play mostly originals, and also add in a healthy smattering of cover tunes by contemporary composers like John Scofield, Thomas Chapin, Wayne Shorter, and Joshua Redman. Their style ranges from straight-ahead jazz to hard-driving funk.
In 2012 the Project released their second CD, Still Light At Night, with all-new, all-original material. One reviewer noted: “The band delivers a heady blend of jazz, swing, and even a little prog rock that bristles with playful energy.” (Dan Bolles, Seven Days)
The Patricia Julien Project’s first CD, Glee, was an introspective jazz release of original tunes, featuring drummer Ari Hoenig.
